At the 7th China International Import Expo, Roche Diagnostics and Hangzhou HealthSky Biotechnology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “HealthSky”) announced a collaboration to launch a fully automated slide sorter. The two parties will jointly explore new business models and market opportunities, fully integrating their advantageous resources to provide smarter and more efficient digital pathology solutions. This collaboration aims to meet the localized needs of pathology laboratories in China, empower personalized precision medicine, and benefit more patients.
The event was attended by distinguished guests including Shen Baolu, Vice President of Strategy and Innovation at Roche Diagnostics China; He Pengzhi, Senior Director of Pathology Diagnostics at Roche Diagnostics China; and Qiu Yanxi, Chairman of Hangzhou HealthSky Biotechnology Co., Ltd.
Pathological diagnosis is widely recognized as the “gold standard” in diagnostics. Pathology slides serve as a crucial foundation for pathologists to observe and diagnose lesions. Efficient and accurate slide sorting is essential for enhancing the work efficiency and diagnostic accuracy of pathology departments. Currently, pathology departments face numerous challenges in their daily operations, including a large volume of samples, complex and time-consuming slide sorting processes, as well as issues such as staff shortages and limited space. These challenges significantly impact the speed and quality of pathological diagnoses.
Based on the practical needs of pathology departments, the newly launched fully automated slide sorter leverages cutting-edge technologies such as AI recognition to perform slide drying and sorting tasks, effectively filling the technical gap in the field of automated slide sorting. This device boasts an “all-in-one” high-efficiency automated processing capability, with multiple sorting modes that enable intelligent slide sorting strategies. The sorting process is clear and transparent, capable of handling up to 1,279 slides in a single run, with a speed of 400 to 600 slides per hour, which is 2 to 3 times faster than manual sorting. With its advantages of full automation, high throughput, intelligence, informatization, and compact size, the device significantly enhances the efficiency and accuracy of pathology laboratories.
Qiu Yanxi, Chairman of Hangzhou HealthSky Biotechnology Co., Ltd., said, “We are honored to collaborate with Roche Diagnostics. We hope that the launch of this innovative product will help improve the efficiency and accuracy of pathology laboratories, empower the intelligent development of pathology labs, and thereby provide patients with faster and more accurate pathological diagnosis results, driving the field of pathology testing towards an intelligent new future.”
